Ward was born at MonroeLouisianaon 14 April1976. Monroe Christian School served as her Christian primary school. She attended Ouachita High School for her second year of education. She then transferred into River Oaks High School after the school year ended. A short time after her graduation, she enrolled at Northeast Louisiana University. Ward dropped out at thirteen and relocated in New York so that she was able to begin modeling. She tried her hand at acting a few years later. In 1970she first appeared in an uncredited character in the soap-opera All My Children and was later scheduled to play in the sluggish NBC Prime-time teen drama Malibu Shores.
